About Firehouse Subs

Firehouse Subs is an American restaurant chain based in Jacksonville, Florida. It was founded in 1994 by former firefighter brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen. Firehouse Subs has over 1,210 restaurants in 46 states, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, and Canada.

Project Goal

Firehouse Subs needed an intranet solution to help foster better communication between headquarters, franchise owners, and employees. This included information like:

  • Sales
  • Brand Standards
  • Franchise Licensing Information
  • Insurance Renewal Notifications
  • Branch Location Information
  • And more.

It was also important to them that the solution work seamlessly with other platforms like QuickBooks, and various other tools they use for employee training and meeting scheduling. This was all to help Firehouse Subs maintain the highest-level of restaurant standards.

Our Approach

  • Designing a responsive interface that focused on providing an excellent user experience, and looked and worked flawlessly on various screen sizes and platforms.
  • Building and supporting a modular infrastructure to allow the solution to expand based on what the client needs, and the ability to easily manage the additional tools.
  • Streamlining the updates process by providing the client a test environment for reviewing that lets them easily make and approve changes.
  • Integrating other tools and websites not a part of the original solution due to the success and ease of use of the core product.
